Hotel Overview

Intercontinental Doha, the latest luxury hotel in Qatar, opened in October 2000, is a welcome addition to the five-star hotel scene after a long wait of 18 years. Sited by the sea, the nine storey Hotel's architecture reflects a harmonious integration between modern style and traditional Arabic elements. The ingenious design ensures that all 245 Rooms have views over the Arabian Gulf and the extensive landscaped gardens. The Hotel proudly boasts the country's newest facilities, being the only Hotel to offer Rooms especially designed for those with special needs. Another first for the country is that every guest Room has direct Internet access through the in-house television system, ensuring that guests can always be in contact with the outside world. In addition, the Hotel Intercontinental Doha is the only hotel in the country providing guest Rooms with separate shower and bathtub.

Location

The Hotel Intercontinental Doha is situated in the prestigious West Bay Lagoon area of Doha, a 25-minute drive from Doha International Airport. Both taxis and private limousines are readily available and airport pickup can be arranged through the Hotel. Driving yourself is not recommended. The Hotel's location is ideal for both the business and leisure traveller, being an easy drive to the business and diplomatic areas, as well as the 18-hole championship Golf Course, the University and Khalifa International Tennis Stadium.

Average Temperatures in Qatar: From June to September: 35ºC - 48ºC. From October to May: 18ºC - 35ºC. Rainfall is infrequent and passes quickly, usually during the months of January and February.

Driving Directions Both taxis and private limousines are readily available and airport pickup can be arranged through the hotel. In case of difficulties, ask a taxi driver to take you to Aladdin's Kingdom, which is a well-known landmark. Driving yourself is not recommended.

The Tea Garden provides a haven of peace and quiet where guests can enjoy light meals and pastries. Enjoy a wide range of cocktails and soft drinks at the Pool Terrace. Or relax in the privacy of your own guest Room and dine with 24-hour Room Service. Sultan Ibrahim Ideally situated on the beachfront, this Lebanese-style seafood restaurant will tempt the palate with the freshest catch of the day from the Arabian Gulf's abundant waters. Guests are invited to select their fish from the enticing choices, while the Chef and his team will cook the selection exactly according to the guest's wishes. Both Arabic tastes and specialist oriental dishes are catered for. Fish market style, with à la Carte available. Elegantly decorated to the highest standards, Cielo is refreshingly different. Guests dine under a painted trompe-l'oeil sky on the ceiling, recreating the mood of those long Italian summer afternoons. In the kitchen, Chef Peppe cooks up classic Italian cuisine using the finest of seasonal produce. Diners can choose from set menus, designed to showcase Chef's skill at combining taste, texture and colour, while the à la Carte menu offers an exploration of the many flavours Italy has to offer. Amwaj: Our international buffet Restaurant is located on the lower ground floor. Amwaj, meaning 'wave' in Arabic, is perfectly named as it overlooks the blue waters of the sea. Created especially with the international traveller in mind, this buffet-style restaurant offers cuisine from around the world, with regular regional specialties available.
