Athens Megaron

 
 

Open: Year Round... Welcome to one of the world's finest cultural centres, Megaron, the Athens Concert Hall, which was completed in 1991. Specialist companies and consultants from throughout Europe were brought together, as a team, to create a cultural centre to match the exacting standards of the world's finest orchestras and to create a conference centre with technical abilities unrivalled by most other European venues.

Conference centre's description

The Concert Hall offers top-quality services and organizational back-up for conferences of all kinds. Depending on the needs of the individual conference, the following venues are available, their capacities ranging from 400 to 2,000 persons: the Christos Lambrakis Hall, the Alexandra Trianti Hall, the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall, the Nikos Skalkotas Hall and the Banqueting Hall. The Concert Hall also boasts twelve conference rooms accommodating from 20 to 180 persons, with all the contemporary equipment to host the most complex of meetings.
All venues are provided with security and usher services, audiovisual equipment, facilities for simultaneous translation and catering for receptions.

Christos Lambrakis Hall

The jewel in the crown of the Athens Concert Hall, and one of the best-designed concert halls anywhere in Europe.

This is not just a remarkable venue to look at – it also has impressive amenities. The designers paid careful attention to every detail to ensure that the result was aesthetically pleasing and the acoustics perfect.
The hall’s maximum capacity is 1961, but the number of seats can be changed to suit the kind of event being staged. This is a real multi-use venue, because the ingenuity of the design allows the space to be literally transformed. It can accommodate and provide superb technical support for events of all kinds – symphony and chamber concerts, recitals, opera, theatrical performances and ballet, with sound amplification, as well as sound recording sessions at every level and, of course, conferences.
Stage, ceiling and seats can all be adjusted as required, not only changing the shape of the venue but altering the acoustics. Apart from sound amplification systems, the hall also has nine simultaneous interpretation booths and a giant screen above the stage for showing films.

Alexandra Trianti Hall

The Hall has four alternative stages with all the necessary support areas, while the foyer, bar, dressing rooms, storerooms, technical and other facilities make it one of the world’s largest conference centres.
With its 1750 seats, versatility of staging options and state-of-the-art equipment, the Hall is an ideal venue for demanding events of all kinds: international scientific conferences, large-scale musical and theatrical performances, dance and opera. The Alexandra Trianti Hall has direct communication with the Atrium.

Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall

The Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall, named after the eminent conductor, pianist and composer, can accommodate up to 450 persons, but can also be adjusted to create a more intimate setting for smaller events. Unlike most venues of this size it has been designed and equipped for the staging not only of chamber music concerts, but also solo recitals and performances of opera and dance.
The hall was constructed with all the technical specifications of a state-of-the-art recording studio. It also has the necessary technical equipment to stage conferences, with three simultaneous interpretation booths, a full microphone and speaker system and screen for projecting slides or films.

Nikos Skalkotas Hall

The multiple-use Nikos Skalkotas Hall has 400 seats, state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for simultaneous translation into six languages. It can accommodate demanding events of all kinds, including conferences, lectures, theatrical performances and opera. It has versatile stage arrangements with all the necessary support facilities, while the foyer, bar, dressing rooms, storerooms, technical and other facilities make it one of the world’s most up-to-date conference centres.
It also has special sub-titling equipment and facilities to screen and record video of lessons or performances.
The Hall adjoins the foyer on level 300A and communicates with the Foyer of the Muses via the vertical communication hubs.

Banqueting Hall

This is a multiple-use venue, circular in design with a level floor, designed to the highest aesthetic standards and with a balcony running the circumference of the hall. The ancillary areas include kitchen facilities, making this an ideal venue for official dinners and conferences, as well as presentations and live performances.

The total surface area of the Banquet Hall is 1,025 square metres, and it can accommodate 1,000 persons for cocktails, 630 dinner guests or 680 guests in seats arranged in conventional auditorium plan – depending on the final arrangement of the large stage. The Banquet Hall also boasts an imposing foyer of 1,000 square metres.

The Hall has state-of-the-art technical equipment for sound, lighting and screenings, as well as booths for simultaneous interpretation.
