History

The royal family of Hessen had used the Hotel until the second World War as a City Residence. This home was completely destroyed during World War II. After the rebuilding of the House in 1951/52 it was designed as a Hotel. At that time the Hotel was with 8 Floors the first skyscraper in Frankfurt, but only for a short time the highest one. The original Hotel was built with 100 Guestrooms. The number of Rooms was reduced to 35 large Rooms in 1991 by a generous renovation to design this part of the Hotel more attractive. The north wing was the first extension in 1961. Each of these Rooms enjoy extensive amenities and individuality of the appointment comes from the Castle of the Prince of Hesse. The west wing was added in 1981/82, therefore it has 117 Rooms with Suites and Salons.

Located directly within the Banking and Business district, opposite the main entrance of the Messe Frankfurt and only a few minutes away from the Opera, Theatres and Museums, the Hotel Hessischer Hof is the ideal place to stay in Frankfurt, whether you are in Town for business or pleasure. The City Centre is 5 minutes drive, the Airport is 15 Km away with daily flights to the whole world and the Train Station is 5 minutes drive ( 0,8 Km ).

The Lobby was renovated in August 1996 to fit the elegant style of the House. It is now suitable for having a quiet conversation or just getting away from the hustle and bustle of business life. International Newspapers, Journals and Business Magazines are also available in the Lobby as is a coat-check which is Free of charge.

The Blue Hallway leads from the Lobby to the North Wing and has many antiques owned by the Princes of Hesse. The Chinese paintings that are done on gold leaf have to be kept behind glass to control their humidity so that they don't crack.

To make your trip to and from the Hotel as comfortable as possible we are pleased to provide you with the most important information you need for your travel plans.

Champagne Breakfast from 6:30 until 11:00 a.m., served in the Restaurant, outside of these hours, we are pleased to serve you Breakfast either in the Lobby or in your Room.

Buffet or Service, we offer you the choice. There is a various selection of hot and warm dishes, 8 different teas to choose from and Champagne. Light, Mediterranean inspired cuisine created by the Executive Chef Mr. Jόrgen Weber. Lunch from 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

During the summer months we move the Restaurant into the Atrium which opens to the sky, with a connecting Pergola.

Historic Sevres-porcelain displayed in showcases, named not only the Restaurant but also adds a very special atmosphere and charm. TPporcelain was a wedding present of Napoleon I. to Princess Alix of Hessen when she married the Russian Tsar. Combined with beautiful Trompe l’oel paintings and chandeliers in the Empire Style, the Sevres Restaurant is the ideal setting no matter if you visit us for a business meal or for private reason.

JIMMY'S BAR:

The American Bar in Frankfurt, furnished with red leather chairs, it resembles a British Club and has become an institution since it’s opening in 1952 not only for the guests but also for the Frankfurters.

It opens daily between 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. Live Entertainment from the Piano from 9:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m.

After Work Parties:

Wednesday and Thursday, 05:00 - 09:00 p.m. each drink for half of the price. The end of a day's work in Jimmy's. From the office to the dance floor with Disco-Sound. International cocktails and a wide selection of whiskeys. Hot and cold food until 3:00 a.m. is served.
