Open : All Year ... The Amaryllis Guest House is ideal for all seasons throughout the year.

Hotel Overview

Our guest house is a stone-built mansion of the 19th century located at the village of Ano Pedina, in Zagorohoria, which underwent a refined renovation in 2009. By pairing the aesthetics of the French countryside with the traditional local architecture, we have created 3 stone buildings that contain 8 romantic rooms filled with the stuff dreams are made of.
Our aim is to make your stay at Amaryllis an experience to remember long after your wonderful visit around the gorgeous area of Zagorohoria!
The Amaryllis Guest House is ideal for all seasons throughout the year. Here, you can observe the blossoming nature in spring, listen to the song of the nightingale on a cool summer day, gaze across the morning mist over the valley or enjoy the pink-grey sunset and the sudden storms during autumn, and feel the beauty of the winter scenery among snow-capped mountains, the river and the gorge.

Location

The area of Zagorohoria on the northwestern part of the Pindus mountain range comprises a group of 46 picturesque villages distinguished for their local history, culture and architecture that are located approximately 30 km from the city of Ioannina and the airport. The excellent road network connecting all of these villages makes them easily accessible. Moreover, they are equipped with everything visitors could ask for during their stay. Here, options can satisfy nearly everyone: from lively or quiet villages to villages with marvelous views or hidden in the dense forests. The surrounding environment consists of beautiful forests, steep mountaintops, rivers with crystal clear waters and alpine lakes.

Here, one can admire the local architecture which is defined by stone and wood, two essential materials that have been widely used for building homes. Luckily, most of the villages in this area are subject to relevant laws regarding traditional settlements, so local architecture has been largely protected and conserved.

The Vikos gorge is definitely another natural attraction worth seeing. If you get there, do not miss the opportunity to take a walk along the signaled trail that forms part of the E4 path.

Rooms

Achillea

Equilibrium in colours and elegance are the primary qualities emanating from Achillea. An aura of serenity pervades this space with the art deco mirror, the floral room divider screen and the alabaster table lamps. These and other items like the patinated, olive-green French furniture reminiscent of Louis Philippe style, the hand-drawn wooden wall lights, the Degas paintings, the books arranged over the restored fireplace and the antique lighting fixtures create an atmosphere of absolute peacefulness…

Hebe

The positive energy of azure is spread all around Hebe. All these subtle elements like the light blue tones of the walls decorated with cloud patterns in a patina with an Italian finesse, the wooden floor of the past century with the vivid reddish shades and the visible wooden roof structure create a sense of energy. From the three large windows you can enjoy the marvelous views of the mountains and the sky in a bright room featuring furniture reminiscent of Louis Philippe style, in patinated, soft grey tones with pea-green floral fabrics, and bronze-like wall lights and French paintings hanging on the walls.

Hyacinth

A sense of cosiness and warmth prevails in Hyacinth. The patinated, pale-pinkish and earthy colours of the walls are paired in harmony with the old restored floor and the visible wooden roof structure, providing a nice and warm colour effect. The elegant corner fireplace along with the classy wardrobe contained in the elevated niche, and the handmade patinated bed at the corner of the room, all are components that form a very personal space. The French armchairs with the floral fabrics, the leather bound books, the porcelain tea set for two, the mirrors and other decorative items are also inviting elements in this beautiful and intimate space.

Narcissus

In Narcissus you will find a genuine classy atmosphere that seems to come from the past. The arched entrance, the patinated walls with the gray, brown and beige cloud patterns, the floor of the past century and the old beam of the visible wooden roof structure, the room’s corners and niches, all add to a sense of soothing atmosphere. The beautiful metal wall lights and the antique table lamps are tastefully combined with the charming women portraits above the fireplace and the French armchairs in grey and brown floral patterns.

Iris

Iris is highlighted by purple and lilac tones. Everything in this spacious room is composed of the stuff dreams are made of… From the pale purple cloud patterns on the walls and the handmade wooden bed with the carved floral headboard to the comfortable armchairs with painted depictions of the French countryside and the bronze-like wall lights bought from Marché aux Puces, the famous Parisian flea market… Let yourself indulge in the magical atmosphere of the most romantic room!

Amaryllis

Amaryllis is the glorification of romantic atmosphere. The patinated pink cloud patterns on the walls are paired with the light colour of the wooden floor and the visible wooden roof structure in a room featuring beautiful handmade furniture reminiscent of Louis Philippe style with burgundy floral fabrics and French antique wall lights. Feel the sweetness of life in that glorious sunbeam that enters the room from the arched windows in the morning…

Anemone

The pomegranate colour that gives a sense of wellness and optimism surrounds Anemone. The floral bouquet figures of the armchairs, the windows in grey and light blue tones, the round-marble fireplace and the bathroom painted in deep rose colours are just some of the elements that create a very personal, intimate and pleasant room. This joyful scenery is enhanced by the dense wooden roof structure, the handmade upholstered headboard and the alabaster table lamps. The predominant pomegranate colour defines the mood of this room!

Dalia

Dalia is a space of tranquillity. The walls are patina-painted in soft orange and pale-pinkish colours while the light chocolate-brown furniture is covered with honey-coloured velvet fabrics. Full of earthy tones and citrus motifs, this spacious and bright room features a visible wooden roof structure, a wooden floor and a large fireplace that create a sense of serenity and calmness.
