Fonte de' Medici is composed by three
different country houses.
Santa Maria a Macerata today houses the
reception and the
common areas: swimming pool, restaurant,conference room, health club
and several apartments.
The other two farmhouses, Podere Tignanello
and Podere Vivaio,
are located in the hill facing Santa Maria and are
easily reached by
following a picturesque country road that intersects the vineyards.
Podere Tignanello
The Podere Tignanello is located 1,5 km. from Borgo di Santa
Maria and
overlooks the vineyards that give life to the renown wine. The large
stone farm-house, a building of historical importance in the area, is
surrounded by gardens and has a breathtaking view of the Pesa Valley.
All of the apartments have their own entries, outdoor private
spaces (verandas or gardens), terracotta floors, exposed wooden beams,
incredibly comfortable bathrooms, and fully well-equipped kitchens.
Some of the apartments also have wide exterior areas with
barbecue grills and large fireplaces.
In every case, the furnishings and structure of the apartments
reflect the Tuscan spirit and distinctive personality that a historical
estate should have.
Apt. Canaiolo: (80 square meters, 2 guests)
On the ground floor, this apartment stands out for its fun
kitchen with a view and splendid white and green bathroom, where the
bath tub is enclosed in a niche. The yellow walls and the welcoming
fireplace make this a perfect place for a romantic stay for two.
Apt. Malvasia: (90 square mt., 2+1 guests)
On the ground floor, this apartment has a large living room
with fireplace. Though created for two people, there is an eventual day
bed for a third person. The arched bathroom, made from an old pantry,
adds a touch of originality. The predominate color is red, and wide
windows open out onto the garden.

The most breath-taking view of Tignanello is from the master
bedroom of this apartment: it reminds one of the background scene of
Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. A corner fireplace creates a romantic

This apartment for 4 people is on the ground floor, and in
ancient times was part of the chapel of the farm. The original altar
and arched ceilings in the living room create an impressive atmosphere.
From the kitchen-dining room one steps onto the fresh terrace with

What can be more beautiful than an attic apartment for 5
people in an ancient Tuscan farm? This two-story apartment has 3
bedrooms, and a very relaxed informal atmosphere. The wide windows
illuminate the kitchen-dining room area and The double-level living is
a pleasant use of space.

This apartment opens onto the northern garden, and is
characterized by its large living room and spacious kitchen-dining
room. The yellow and green tones are cheerful , an invitation to

Podere Vivaio
Podere Vivaio, the second farmhouse lodging, consists of three
completely renovated apartments and enjoys a stunning view of the lake
of Buca del Granchio.
The apartments, named after three olive tree varieties, are equipped
with every amenity to ensure a comfortable stay.

On the ground floor, with a wide living room overlooking the
shaded garden, this apartment is very confortable and is ideal to enjoy
the atmosphere of the Tuscan Countryside. The bedroom has a beautiful
view on Buca del Granchio Lake.

On the First floor, with an incredible view on the lake , this
apartment is characterized by his wide and ancient fireplace. Also the
shaded garden side (covered by a veranda) is overlooking the lake.
Apt. Carotina: (63 mq., 2+2 guests)
At the top floor of this beautiful country house there's
Coratina. The big kitchen and the fireplace characterizes this 4 people
apartment. You access to the apartment by walking through a little
bridge over the garden.
Borgo Santa Maria a Macerata
The heart of Fonte de' Medici is in this small historical
village characteristic of the Chianti countryside, with its houses made
of stone, brightly colored plaster walls, and little central square and
chapel. Here you will find the reception, restaurant and swimming pool
that complement the apartments, everything surrounded by nature and
facing the vineyards of Tignanello and further away the Valley of the
Pesa.
Five apartments are found within the same structure that
houses the reception while two more are located apart.
Crossing the street that goes through the village one can
finds more apartments, the conference room, which can hold uup to 80
people.
Apt. Aglianico: (55 square mt., 2+1 guests)
A large living room, kitchen and dining room in cheerful lavender tones
bring a great breath of fresh air into the Aglianico.
The spacious bathroom, embellished with delicious bow windows,
is fully equipped for disabled guests. This apartment has a separate
entrance and a small private garden to ensure tranquility and privacy.

The privacy of this beautiful old-fashioned barn while still being
close to the swimming pool renders this apartment ideal for a rural
