Hostal de la Gavina

In 1932 this luxurious Hostal De La Gavina opened in the tiny fishing Village of S' Agaro with just six Rooms. The Gavina ( seagull ) and the Resort Town have come a long way since then, but the inn has remained in the Ensesa family, which is personally responsible for the extraordinary collection of antiques found throughout the premises. It is a Luxurious Resort on a private estate and the setting between two lovely Beaches on a small Peninsula is exquisite. Elegant in the European, Grand Hotel tradition, with splendidly decorated Rooms and antiques. The Girona Airport is at 35 Km distance and the Costa Brava Barcelona Airport is 130 kilometers away.

Everything you see-rugs, tapestries, tile, furnishings-is genuine, not a single reproduction blemishes the scene. Nor does a Single Room reproduce another, each is unique and all are wonderful, spacious and bright. Careful attention has been given to the tiniest detail in every corner of every Room ( a man is employed full-time to do nothing but polish the wood ).

The Hotel consists of 3 Floors with 58 Rooms and 16 Suites. There are 38 Double Rooms with Terrace ( 27 Twins & 11 with a Double Bed ), 16 Doubles Standard Rooms ( 7 Twins & 9 with a Double Bed ), 3 Individual Rooms ( 3 Queen Bed ), 3 Junior Suites ( 3 with a Double Bed ), 13 Suites ( 3 Twins & 10 with a Double Bed ) and 1 Royal Suite with a King Size Bed.

All the Rooms are equipped with Direct Dial Telephone, Electronic Safe, Mini Bar, Hairdryer, Satellite Color TV and 24 hour Room Service. The Standard and Superior Rooms also have Balconies.

The Suites have a Sitting Area separate from the Bedroom. The Royal Suite is decorated in the Louis XV tradition.

The Candlelight Restaurant only opens at night. It is the Hotel's main and more exclusive Restaurant for an elegant Dinner with candles and music of the Pianist.

The Restaurant " Las Conchas " is a lightly Restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine, ideal for business lunch or special dinners. It has a capacity of 100 persons in Banqueting set-up.

The Villa D' Este Restaurant is ideal for a Gala Dinner, also lightly. It depends of the size of the group it is better Las Conchlas or De Villa D' Este. Situated just behind " Las Conchas " with a capacity of 140 persons in Banqueting set-up.
