Location

An elegant, quintessential Pride of Britain Victorian manor house, near Portpatrick in Dumfries and Galloway - this jewel in the crown of South West Scotland’s great little hotels offers luxurious accommodations and outstanding service, making every visit unique and memorable. In a romantic position at the foot of a wooded glen and sheltered by cliffs, this impressive Victorian house has furnishings that are bright, tasteful and luxurious.

Rooms

Knockinaam Lodge is noted for its elegance and warmth - it has the warm, inviting feel of a delightful, private country house rather than the formal atmosphere of many country house hotels. Having only ten bedrooms gives you the feeling you are staying with friends.

Ten wonderful bedrooms, ten individual 'personalities', all individually decorated. Pleasantly old fashioned, yet unobtrusively modern, thoughtfully appointed, offering a quite unique traditional ambience, yet with every contemporary comfort, including private bath, digital television and direct dial telephones, as well as wonderful tiled fireplaces in a selection of rooms.

Creating that feeling that they were just made for you no matter which one you choose. This combination of modern guest standards laced with an unmistakable feeling of yesteryear is much talked about by visitors… and undoubtedly remembered with fondness and affection. And rooms named after erstwhile residents - such as 'Churchill’ add to the nostalgic charm.

Fresh flowers, quality toiletries and other little touches create the perfect welcome when you first open the door.
