History

Located at the boarders to Germany and France, Basel plays a major role as one of Europe's most important industrial and commercial centres. The city's history goes back 2.000 years. The old town reflects a charming atmosphere, with many of the 18th and early 19th century buildings being well preserved. Basel is known for its diverse cultural attractions, museums, theatres and art galleries.

Location

The Swissotel Le Plaza Basel is situated in the city centre, directly on the fairground of Basel and under the same roof with the Convention Center. It is located 12 km from the Euro- Airport Basel- Mulhouse- Freiburg, 2 km from the Swiss main station and 1 km from the German main station. All highway exits are within close vicinity and the Musical Theatre is only a few steps away.
